Fallen Prey to Cult?

I remember last year writing about Dharma King's Test and Dharma Throne.

Also about showing Dharma Powers or Prowess.

The following bears relation to a cultivator who proclaimed he is reincarnation of the highest Vajrayana lineage and also boasted about being certified by many Rinopoche and cultivators as such too.

However, taking a close look at him, he has very crude feature of peasants, big wide mouth that resembles carnivores; eyes that are icy and slicing too.

The aura is just not right and does not match his claims of reincarnation of great yogi or forefathers of Vajrayana.

This is narrated to me by a fellow student.

A Rinpoche from Nepal went to visit this residence. This rinpoche claims to be a disciple of the above mentioned.

He alleged the house to be haunted. He went on to perform some ritual chasing the ghosts to the neighboring houses!

Hahaha! Great guy???

He then went on to criticize the altar with Deities & also the Ancestral one.

According to him, the Deities are not present within the statues.

Ancestors have all gone upwards and do not need to do offering to them anymore.

The lady owner of the house, DL, is a student of Sakya Chapter. She was completely convinced by this Rinpoche and let him take away all the Deities and threw away the ancestors tablets.

2 weeks later, DL went to the residence of this Rinpoche and he said DL was being cheated as she told the Rinpoche previously that the Kenpo and some of his students stuff gold and precious metals and gems into the statues before sealing the base of the statues.

He proceeded to unseal the statues in sight of DL.

From then on, DL instigated many fellow students from her chapter to follow this Rinpoche.

Question: Did this Rinpoche adhered to Buddha's Teachings?

I remembered advising all that we do not chase or catch ghosts.

Why? They are fellow beings too just like us and many have no where to go and no descendants to care for them.

They might have been dwelling there amicably without causing the residents any harm.

Are there truly GHOSTS at that premises?

We help the ghosts or spirits take refuge and also bardo deliver them or for those that reluctant to leave, we keep offering them supplies so that they can be comfortable.

Keep dedicating merits to them so that they can clear their negatives and learn to cultivate too.

The statues:- When we cultivate, we sincerely invoke the present of the Deities and do prostration; offerings; .... The Deities will sit into the respective statues or descend to accept our offerings.

Buddha said that we must not pray to statues, which actually is telling us not to get too fixated to forms or attached attributes to forms.

In Tantrayana, we need to start with visualization of Deities in order to stop our minds from wandering. We can use statues or posters.

However, Guru mentioned that prostration is paying respect and humbles us.

Offering helps us accumulate out-of-sentient realm merits.

Ancestors - Offering to ancestors regularly, we are paying respect and grateful for their giving us life. We also practice Filial Piety, yet another essential in cultivation.

If you do not even care about your own ancestors, pray tell how to open your hearts to all sentient beings?

Caring for all sentient beings as ONE is Maha Bodhicitta. A very important requisite to all Buddhas to be.

Sincerely hope that readers beware of these religious crooks and also help your relatives and friends steer clear of these crooked practitioners who made all kinds of false claims.

Many sectors had already issued precautionary literature to their followers, for some these came too late.
