This sounds very depressed. Seems life has become meaningless. This person probably met with some hindrances & more than one at one go.
But to truly address the issue: what is sentient being all about? What is work all about?
Seriously, I don't know how to answer this fellow student.
Well, I believe the answer should be KARMA.
We are all here for a reason and what we experience daily, all through the Karmic influence we created from previous lives & this one.
The only answer is to break free and GM offers many methods of cultivation to say sorry, to pay Karmic debts, to help/save others & to leave the reincarnation of the 6-realms completely by attaining Buddhahood.
To live happier - I humbly suggest we treat all sentient beings as self as taught by Buddha.
You will gradually give way & write off most sentient matters.
Cultivating & sharing Dharma & Universal empowerment, dedicating merits to all sentient beings also make your life smoother as you neutralize lots of negative & make lots of friends in the process.
For example: at the start of cultivation we placed all beings of the 6 realms all around us & enable them to share in empowerment from GM & True Buddha Lineage. As we move along all beings continue to bask in Universal empowerment.
In this way, those that we have wronged - we say sorry & those that we have no negative with - we make friends.
I remember in early 2010, a fellow student share in my cultivation session after 3 sessions that what I taught him works.
I taught him how to draw Universal energy through GM in 4 refuge visualization & share with all beings - he said: Fashi, what you taught me truly work & I find more & more people around me getting friendlier everyday.
This is good for daily life including work.
Therefore, I believe Cultivation is the key to Life & work.
We are indeed blessed to take refuge with True Buddha School and have Living Buddha Lian Sheng as our Guru.
