Greed/Anger/Ignorance – The 3 Poisons
When one expects rewards/returns for their deeds, they are being compensated or paid already.
Merit results from voluntary deeds of easing sufferings of all sentient beings without expectations of any rewards/returns.
When you performed some deed and then broadcast that you have done this & that for the good of others, your intention is motivated by GREED of recognition & adulation & even monetary gains.
Therefore you take on willingly whatever resulted from your motivated action and its corresponding returns.
Bearing or taking over others’ negative Karma, in this instance, the motivation factor is GREED, one of the 3 Poisons.
As an educated individual and a cultivating Yogi-to-be, it is truly sad that the choice motivated by Greed shows up this individual Ignorance too. He really do not understand GM’s teachings and GM’s compassion to save him and all sentient beings.
What good can material gains like Fame, Adulation, Money do for a person in the 3 Lower Realms?
Haha! To tell you the truth, the above individual was talking to me about needing financial support for his Dharma activities when he heard that I am well off. Without ascertaining the Truth, he started a campaign to get my financial support.
The Blind leading the Blind!
Now the 3rd Poison – Anger!
As I chose to act dumb of his efforts to seek financial support from me, he went round and spread words that I am disrespectful towards him. His actions are motivated by Anger & resulting hatred, to avenge some perceived wrongs on my part.
Yes! Buddha is indeed a person of Great Wisdom in that he highlighted these Human characteristics thousands of years ago and teaches all to avoid them and the accompanying/underlying karma they bring forth.
GM’s explained Sakyamuni’s mantra – an able/wise person that can facilitate Great Compassion to save all sentient beings.
Once again, lets listen to GM and pay close attention to what we are doing all the time.
I can promise you all that once you find the way and walk in step with GM, you will live every minute every second with Joy & vitality on the Dharma Path to wherever you choose to be.
