"A prostration (Pali: panipāta, Skt.: namas-kara, Ch.: li-pai, Jp.: raihai) is a gesture used in Buddhist practice to show reverence to the Triple Gem(comprising the Buddha, his teachings, and the spiritual community) and other objects of veneration."

    Here is my take. After further reading the "Lotus Born",

    i read the part one page 105-108 as attached picture
    (esp the part when Vimalamitra asked "Do you King and Ministers know the meaning of Homage" which was replied by the King " I don't know".

    So i will simply explain to the King what is the meaning of Paying Homage as the King expected homage from Padmasambhava earlier and Vimalamitra later upon the consecration of the Temple.

    From Wikipedia

    "A prostration (Pali: panipāta, Skt.: namas-kara, Ch.: li-pai, Jp.: raihai) is a gesture used in Buddhist practice to show reverence to the Triple Gem(comprising the Buddha, his teachings, and the spiritual community) and other objects of veneration.

    "The King at that stage was just an ordinary person, he wasn't the object of veneration according to the Buddhist Teaching.
    So he will definitely be in trouble when Enlightened Ones were forced to pay homage at him.
    :D thats all

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
The student talks about Homage and then quoted the meaning of Prostration!
Hahaha!
A true yogi can pay respect or homage with just a thought and mobilisation of Qi or Light Energy!
What did Padmasambhava & Vimalamitra want to show the King and his court?
See how confused One can be with a simple question?
Most people complicate their own lives, agree?
O! Enlightenment is staring you in the eye but you are too preoccupied to see it!
Cheers all
