C. neoformans usually infects the lungs or the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord), but it can also affect other parts of the body. The symptoms of the infection depend on the parts of the body that are affected.
In the lungs
Treatment
Some infections require no treatment. Even so, there should be regular check-ups for a full year to make sure the infection has not spread. If there are lung lesions or the disease spreads, antifungal medications are prescribed. These drugs may need to be taken for a long time.
Medications include:
Amphotericin B
Flucytosine
Fluconazole
Amphotericin B can have severe side effects.
Outlook (Prognosis)
Central nervous system involvement often causes death or leads to permanent damage.
When to Contact a Medical Professional
Call your health care provider if you develop symptoms of cryptococcosis, especially if you have a weakened immune system.
A C. neoformans infection in the lungs can cause a pneumonia-like illness. The symptoms are often similar to those of many other illnesses, and can include:
Cough
Shortness of breath
Chest pain
Fever
In the brain (cryptococcal meningitis)
Cryptococcal meningitis is an infection caused by the fungus Cryptococcus after it spreads from the lungs to the brain. The symptoms of cryptococcal meningitis include:
Headache, fever, and neck pain are common symptoms of cryptococcal meningitis.
Headache
Fever
Neck pain
Nausea and vomiting
Sensitivity to light
Confusion or changes in behavior
If you have symptoms that you think may be due to a C. neoformans infection, please contact your healthcare provider.

Cryptococcosis
Link: https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001328.htm
Cryptococcosis is infection with Cryptococcus neoformans fungus.
Causes
Cryptococcus neoformans is the fungus that causes this disease. It is usually found in soil. If you breathe it in, it infects your lungs. The infection may go away on its own, remain in the lungs only, or spread throughout the body (disseminate).
This infection is most often seen in people with a weakened immune system, such as those who:
Are infected with HIV
Take high doses of corticosteroid medications
Are on chemotherapy drugs for cancer
Have Hodgkin's disease
Cryptococcus is the most common life-threatening fungal infection in people with AIDS.
Symptoms
Blurred vision or double vision
Bone pain or tenderness of the breastbone
Chest pain
Confusion
Cough -- dry
Fatigue
Fever
Headache
Nausea
Skin rash, including pinpoint red spots (petechiae), ulcers, or other skin lesions
Sweating -- unusual, excessive at night
Swollen glands
Unintentional weight loss
People with a normal immune system may have no symptoms at all.
The infection may spread to the brain in people who have a weakened immune system. Neurological (brain) symptoms start slowly. Most people with this infection have swelling and irritation of the brain and spinal cord when they are diagnosed.
Exams and Tests
Physical examination may reveal:
Abnormal breath sounds
Fast heart rate
Fever
Mental status changes
Stiff neck
Tests that may be done include:
Blood culture
CT scan of the head
Sputum culture and stain
Lung biopsy
Bronchoscopy
Spinal tap to obtain a sample of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF)
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) culture and other tests to check for signs of infection
Chest x-ray
Cryptococcal antigen test (looks for a certain molecule that the Cryptococcus neoformans fungus can shed into the blood)

The above is a test report of a fellow student who has lung infection since 1st January 2016 and hospitalised hence.
The fungal infection was detected after more than 10 days of hospitalisation.
Whats the relevance to a "Broken away kite"?
If you listened to GM Lu attentively, HE said many do not even bother or find time to Chant Guru's Mantra daily or at all!
Even some ordained personnels too, are included in this group!
Dear all, Chanting Guru's Mantra actually draws you and Root Guru closer with time & your diligence!
BUT, if you don't do so, you are like a Broken-away kite that increase your distance from Root Guru with the passing of TIME!
Asking HELP from me when you are sick?
My advice is to chant Root Guru's mantra, so Root Guru can go provide aid to you, Transcendentally or Astrally!
Choice! Once again is yours & yours alone!
You choose to break away from your Root Guru, then no one can help or save you in times of need!
YES!
Remember [Samadhi Boddicitta]?
Your Root Guru, if a genuine or authentic True Yogi or Living Buddha, can go save you in times of need!
So, do you have the relevant "Bargaining Chips" for me to ask for help from Root Guru for you?
Compassion must be tempered with Wisdom and One must never go against the Law of Universe or Nature!
The Karmic Angle must be recognised too!
Cheers all
Om Guru Lian Sheng Siddhi Hom
