皈依的口訣─皈依自性
皈依的含義，就是皈向、依靠、救度。密教有四皈依，就是皈依金剛上師，皈依佛，皈依法，皈依僧。
而梵語的「南摩」，就是「皈依」。其四皈依即是：
南摩古魯貝。
南摩不打耶。
南摩達摩耶。
南摩僧伽耶。
為什麼要皈依？因為有了皈依才有師父來教你佛法，若無師傳法，就無法可修。這是很簡單的道理。
佛法的禪宗、密宗、律宗，很重視師父。
禪宗，是師父來印證。
律宗，是師父來傳戒。
密宗，是師父來傳法。
西藏密宗，其教理，首重根本金剛上師，是重傳承尊師法的，從「多傑羌如來」至傳法的根本上師，是根本中之根本。
我認為皈依的根本，在一個「信」字上，「信」是一切的開始，也就是「信為道元功德母，增長一切諸善法，除滅一切諸疑惑，示現開發無上道。」
有信才有樂，信心之體，必有歡喜之相，高高興興的皈依「蓮生活佛」。
淨土宗的法門是皈依「信」念。
天台宗的法門是皈依「一」念。
密宗真言法門是皈依「阿」字。
有信，才有「皈依」，有了皈依，才有「行」，是依密宗之法而行也，如此才有真正的歸向。
「皈依」，是信解行證之始，先信樂其法，次了解其法，依其法而實際修行。
最後是得證其果。
所以，皈依的根本，就是「信」。
皈依觀想的方法是：
先觀想上師形容，天心白光迸現，射入行者的天心，喉際紅光迸現，射入行者喉際，心際藍光迸現，射入行者心際。
行者恭唸「四皈依咒」：「南摩古魯貝。南摩不打耶。南摩達摩耶。南摩僧伽耶。」三遍。
隨即觀想，「上師」出現虛空，「佛」出現虛空，「法本」現光出現虛空，「僧寶」出現虛空，互相融合，化為五色的大光明，這五色的大光明灌入行者的頂竅，注滿全身。再觀想自覺一切的業障，惡業，不淨業，罪業，全部化為黑色的氣，從毛細孔排了出去，自己變得光明透澈，身心輕安，充滿福慧。
如此，即是真實的「皈依觀想法」的內明。
蓮生活佛現在開示「無上的皈依口訣」如下：
「自己實是因緣和合之體，是有佛性常住自心，這佛性是不生不滅，不斷不常，不來不去，不一不異。原來是佛，原與煩惱業緣均無交涉。凡夫因妄想執著而不知也。如今師尊特別指出，﹁這是真實的大智慧，『自己是佛』，一切佛法，無非權巧方便，最主要的皈依，是『皈依自性』，這才是皈依口訣，豁破了無明之後，回復本來常住真心，圓滿其清淨光明之法身。」
這樣子的口訣，正是：
譬如靈丹藥。
點鐵成金寶。
誦持陀羅尼。
變凡作賢聖。
常常持四皈依咒，觀想上師三光加被，五色大光明灌頂，可以入於無相定中，得皈依口訣，堅固自己的道心，永遠身語意三業清淨，就是堅固的「金剛幢如來」。

開啟你自心的佛性。（啟藏）
迷時師度。（外皈依）
悟時自度。（內皈依）
你就是佛。（密皈依）

Namo = taking refuge
Why take refuge? - In order to have a teacher to teach you Dharma & to cultivate
GM believes that TRUST is the beginning of everything - which is all mother of merits path, growth of all good methods, eliminator of all doubts, initiating Ultimate Path.
With Trust then have refuge & with Trust that is Direction.
First Trust with Joy the Dharma & then understand Dharma, relying on the Dharma to cultivate to fruition.
In Tantrayana - there is 4 Refuge which include refuge in root guru & the 3 gems.
Visualizing Root Guru, Buddha, Dharma & Sangha combine radiating light to fill the yogi's body thus eliminating all darkness resulting in the yogi being bright & transparent, with a feeling of Joy & full of auspiciousness.
Secrets to Refuge is one discovers eventually that One's Buddha Nature is everlastingly within & nothing can destroy this. All troubles & sufferings are impermanent & Dharma is a facilitator only.
The most important is taking refuge in Self.
Eliminating ignorance, returning to ever staying Buddha nature, re-discovering its nature of purity & brightness.
Frequently visualize 4 refuge & Root Guru's beaming 3 lights into one, one can be in No Form Samodhi,
receiving refuge password, firm mind on Path, everlasting Pure karma [speech, thoughts, actions], this is Firm & Unmoving Vajra Banner Buddha.
