GM started doing the Tibetan style of Fire Puja in Taiwan last year.
He initiated the fire & then blesses each tray of offerings & the offerings are pass-down after GM blessed them to the Venerables & Dharma service personnel, who line both sides of the temple right out to the fire pit.
I participated in one back in November 2008 in Johor, Malaysia, organised by Sakya sector in which my brother actively sponsors. The Kenpo will bless each basket of offerings & each participant hold a tray & line-up getting their trays filled by the Kenpo. They then walked to the fire pit & pour the tray's contents into the fire.
These continue until a certain item is emptied & another basket is placed in front of the Kenpo for him to bless them & then he will distribute to those in the line-up.
The fire pit is also build by stacking bricks & the size is similar to that we see online at Taiwan LZS.
Oil is constantly poured in by the Host of the ceremony who happens to be my brother.
Therefore, my brother & his family, our mother & myself gets to start off each item of the offerings & also offering of the oil.
Haha! we get bigger trays of offerings each round too.
I have modified both versions as follows:
Each get a Paper lotus filled with offerings & they get to talk to GM & all Divinities & make their wishes.
Each also get to offer oil, sesame oil & wine.
Generally, we all participated & given a chance to wholeheartedly talk & make wishes.
I am fair & treat all as ONE, do you agree? Haha!
Everyone gets the same opportunity & offerings to offer!
No class distinction & no matter how wealthy or poor you are, you are also given a lotus to offer.
The lotus with offerings is free, you just need to come & have fun!
Do you agree that this way is better for a small group?
Haha! Not possible for big group like that in Taiwan Temple every Saturday.
There will be utter kiosk with so many holding a lotus with offerings & taking their time to chat & make wishes!
The following photos give you an idea what we are doing almost weekly for fire puja cultivation.
Interesting??
Come join us this evening at 6.30pm.
Registration compulsory as we have to prepare your share of offerings.
Remember GM stresses that we have to do everything wholeheartedly & happily.
