GM talks very often about the requisites of a cultivating yogi.
Now let me share some interesting tidbits with you.
This is experience of a monk, AB, he is now a very 'sought-after' learned person & recently came into Singapore to share Dharma.
One of his tales goes like this...
He is staying with a temple in remote areas of Thailand.
The Abbot's deputy ask the monks to shift a pile of bricks lying in front of the temple's entrance to somewhere behind the temple, as it is unsightly.
Toiling under a Hot sun & pushing wheel-barrows, the monks studiously shifted the pile of bricks.
Upon the Abbot's return, he ordered the bricks to be shifted back.
Once again, the monks toiled under the Hot sun shifting the bricks.
Monk AB started to complain to his mates about how heavy the loads are & how hot the sun. He didn't want to continue brick shifting.
Monk AG said to him: Think only of moving the bricks from point
A to B & do it with a joyful heart. We have to do it anyway, so do it happily.
Indeed with a joyful heart & acceptance of having to complete one's task, the load somehow become lighter & the sun become cooler & more friendly. Mission accomplished at a faster pace.
I remembered counseling someone who complains all the time that he is being exploited by fellow workers & the superiors do not recognize his contribution. He said most time, he is the only one maintaining the existence of the place.
Haha! I asked him whether he needs to eat or not?
If so, then he has to work & be happy about it.
He said I am the employer talking because I am a business person & owns my own business.
Reality is such that irregardless of who is talking, as long as he needs to eat & feed his family, he has to work & work happily. Do not have any expectation of recognition as that is Ego/Pride, traits that are harmful to one.
In so doing, he will always be happy & spread this happiness all around him.
Haha! recently someone told me the same thing about hating his job.
I said: you are blessed to have a job that enable you to live comfortably as well as spare funds to help the needies & time to help them too.
Actually complaining & moaning only make one more unhappy & affects those around you too. It gradually snowballed out of proportion & harm you only.
Buddha teaches us to spread happiness all around & so does GM.
Please start doing so & you will be rewarded by how many you have touched with Buddha's & GM's compassion.
GM's Dharma speech yesterday contained Boddhicitta which every successful yogi must have.
Listen to GM & follow him along the Boddhi Path.
