Then Tok chef's debut - and his mentioned Lian Jie - breaching disciplines.

Tok Chef actually promoted Lotuschef when he attacked Lian Jie, who is quite notorious in TBS, to the seniors. 

So they brought Lotuschef to the attention of more seniors and some had left even before Lotuschef's appearance.
