聖尊蓮生活佛：“我每見「財多福薄」之人，死於橫災、疾厄、盜賊、水火、國稅、賭博、破產、後人爭財、短壽、絕嗣等等。這財多，並非是福，反而害了自己，害了子孫，一生勞碌，盡付東流之水，我屢看屢驗，愈看愈怕。
GM said: every time when I see those that are [Materially Rich but Poor in meritorious worth], dying from accidents, diseases, robbery, water & fire hazards, national taxation, gambling, bankruptcy, descendants fighting over estate, short life span, completely no descendants & etc. This Materially Rich is not rich in Meritorious value, will result in harm to themselves or their descendants. Living through an arduous life all gone like the water flowing Eastward. Every time I see & examine, I become more afraid for them.
佛說：「財如毒蛇。」
Buddha said: [Monetary Wealth is like poisonous snakes.]
事實上，也有這樣的事，人為財死，鳥為食亡。
In actual fact, this type of situation do exist. People die for material wealth, birds for food.
我覺得，若要財福均有，須：濟人之急。救人之危。慷慨解囊。
I personally feel that in order to have both Material & Meritorious Wealth,
one need to : save those in danger & be generous & charitable to all.
如此之人，才是大有福德者也！”
These type of people can then be both Materially & meritoriously rich.
