有个新封的上师在草屯雷藏寺的会宾室把我拉到一旁，跟我说：莲厨，师尊没有教你的方法做护摩。不可以这样做。
At Caotun LZS' reception hall, a newly appointed Shangshi pulled me aside and said: Lotuschef, Shizun didn't teach your method of doing homa. Cannot do like that.
这时，师尊正在会宾室的另一边签书！
At this time, Shizun is at the other end of the hall signing books!
我默默的用心跟师尊传达了上师的话。
I silently use my heart to transmit the shangshi words to Shizun.
哈哈哈！Hahaha!
遗憾啊！Regretful/ Sad, Too Bad!
通俗说，所谓成就，即修法时心有所求，皆能满吾人所愿而如意现前。
Generally speaking, Success is said to be - when cultivating have wishes, and that all wishes be fulfilled and materialise to the forefront.
成就有两种：Success have 2 types:
一、世间成就：如求财、求子、求升官、求名位的获得等。
Worldly success: wish for wealth, children, promotion, fame status, attainment
二、出世间成就：如求得解脱，或求了脱生死等。
Out of world success: like achieving 解脱（梵文: मोक्ष ，mokṣa， 或मुक्ति，mukti）, or wish to understand and leave birth death,....
一般不论是何尊法，皆有世间与出世间两种利益。
Generally, no matter which Yidam's practice, also have both worldly & out of world benefits.
护摩
护摩，为密教大法。
Homa is Tantrayana's big dharma practice.
凡求成就，必作护摩。
All those that wish to achieve success, must do Homa.
护摩者，焚烧之义。
Homa has Open burning meaning.
亦有浅深二解。
Also have surface and deep meaning.
浅者，因印度外道，有事火之法，以火为梵天之口，为令供物，上达于天，故以火进之。
Surface - Because Indian tirthika/pagan has fire matter method, using fire as the Heavenly doorway, in order for offering to reach heaven, thus use fire as entry instrument.
今密教为摄伏彼故，借用彼法，造作坛，构设炉器场，以诸供物，顺次加持，投于炉中，供养本尊，求成就也，是名外护摩。
Offering to Yidam, begging for success - termed external homa.
此虽云浅，然其义趣，比之外道，犹如天地，不可相并。
如大疏云：若但作世谛护摩，不解此中密意，则与韦陀火天无异，
Like a big commentary cloud: If only do sentient truth homa, do not understand the underlying meaning, will be no difference from Skanda Fire Heaven,
故须作三平等观。自身、本尊及炉，一体无二。
Thus requires Three Equality Visualisation - Self, Yidam & Fire pit, One body only.
以智火，烧无明薪。( 薪 xīn 柴火)
With Wisdom fire, burn ignorant's wood-fire.
以一切众生，皆从业生。
Base on the fact that all sentient beings are born from their Karmic deeds.
今烧除前业，即得解脱也。
Now burn away previous karma, then attain Break free.
是即佛法真正护摩，深秘火法也。
Thus it is Buddha Dharma True Homa, deeply secretive fire practice.
但以密教当相即道，此外护摩，亦不可废除。
凡欲求成就者，依所求之事不同。
All those that wish for success, follow their individual wish.
是以设坛之方法，亦异，所求之事虽多，而经中略有四种、五种不同。
The difference is in method of setting up altar, though wishes are numerous, but roughly have 4 or 5 different types.
四种者：The four are:
一、息灾，所以除灾生德也。
appease calamity, eliminate life's merits.
二、增益，所以增进福智，圆满万行也。
increase gain or benefit, like increase auspiciousness and wisdom, rounded perfection in many endeavours.
三、降伏，所以损减怨敌，克服强暴为能。
Suppress and conquer, loss or reduce enemies, ability to overcome strong violence
四、敬爱，所以得人宗仰，使众和合为功。
respectful affection, respected by others, merit of achieving public harmony
这四种修法通金刚界五部（佛部、金刚部、宝部、莲花部、羯磨部）和胎藏界三部（佛部、莲花部、金刚部）。
此四种外，加钩召，名五种法。
钩召者，摄召之义，所以召摄欲得之人也。
The 5th is hook & invoke, to invoke the one desired.
又四种各各互具，谓息灾息灾、增益息灾、敬爱息灾、调伏息灾等也。
更有延命法，亦增益之部所分出。
The 4 types each has combination possibilities, like appease calamity appease calamity, increase gain appease calamity, respectful affection appease calamity, harmonise control appease calamity....

Homa is a Sanskrit word that refers to a ritual, wherein an oblation or any religious offering is made into fire. A Homa is sometimes called a "sacrifice ritual" because the fire destroys the offering, but a Homa is more accurately a "votive ritual".
The fire is the agent, and the offerings include those that are material and symbolic such as grains, clarified butter, milk, incense and seeds.

Why do Homa?
As Cultivation is all dependent on Self.
So are the Results or Achievements of Cultivation!
I can do Homa without anyone else's participation!
But, I choose to share this Cultivation with all interested parties that have relevant Affinity!
The poor freshie VM was "selected" as a sacrificial lamb by those that he perceived as Control Tower!
His obedience evidenced his giving up himself to this Control Tower!
Regretful and real sad, agree?

In this current atmosphere in TBS, can we then conclude that all Titled masters are lacking in the relevant Buddha Dharma knowledge & applications?
When you are given a title to do a job, it is your very own karma if you fail to deliver!
