O! She often brought up her past efforts as well during speeches before events!
We have been hearing all these for years too! :)

The mortal's craving for Adulation is pretty obvious, agree?
BUT, anyone realised what is the problem?
Now, lets go refer to Zen Patriarch, Bodhidharma, and his statements to Emperor Liang about Merits for Charitable deeds!
What did Bodhidharma said to Emperor Liang when asked how much merits had he accumulated through all the Charitable deeds done?
The answer was: Zero!
Now, when you put out efforts and expect rewards, there is no Boddhicitta at all!
When you do a little but bragged a lot, you also won't merit any rewards!
AND, when all you ever do is for Self and also after material returns, you stand to drop into the 3 Lower Realms of transmigration!
Of course, when you demand to be acknowledge publicly and preen your feathers in public as well, you fall prey to Poisons like Greed, Ignorance, Aversion,......
Gosh!
Am I scaring you?
Hahaha!
If you wish to think so!
But Heed My Advice, don't cross into the Dark anymore!
