解脫之聖人
我在「大溪地」茅草屋中禪定時，驀然想起修行成就的問題，
所謂修行成就證果，也就是「解脫之聖人」，是指四聖：
一、小乘阿羅漢。
二、緣覺。
三、大乘菩薩。
四、佛。
成就是指證得菩提果位。
一、小乘阿羅漢。
二、緣覺。
三、大乘菩薩。
四、佛。
成就是指證得菩提果位。
To break free is equivalent to affirmed True Fruit which is Bodhi Fruit Stage, which is the 4 Saints;

我想到，很多人都說，學佛證果，修顯法，要經過三大阿僧祇劫才能成就，這三大阿僧祇劫，在梵文來說，簡直是長到不可數，如恆河沙不可數也，學佛證果要如此長的時間，首先已把眾人嚇止住了，誰敢學佛？
It is said that attainment of Bodhi Fruit stage need to go through 3 Big Asankya Kalpa, which is countless or seems infinite and thus most already frightened and halted at this. Who still dares to study Buddha Dharma?
後來，我在達摩祖師的「破相論」中，讀到：
Later, I read from Patriarch Boddhidharma's Break Through Sermon:
「如佛所說，我於三大阿僧祇劫，無量勤苦，方成佛道。
三毒心就是貪、嗔、痴。
如果有人，能一念中，將三毒心去除，試想想，這就是三解脫，身口意清淨。
這一念就是三大阿僧祇劫了。
阿僧祇（祇，音qí），梵语“asamkya”的音译，或译为无数或无央数，是一个佛教名字对于数字10104，是多到没有数目可以计算的意思。阿僧祇劫即指“无数劫”。《妙法莲华经》：“我成佛已来。复过于此百千万亿那由他阿僧祇劫。自从是来。我常在此娑婆世界说法教化。”
Asankya-Kalpa - time span of 20 Antah-Kalpas. One is equivalent to a quarter of Maha-Kalpa.
Kalpa is a Sanskrit word (Hindi: कल्प kalpa) meaning an aeon, or a relatively long period of time (by human calculation) in Hindu and Buddhist cosmology. The concept is first mentioned in theMahabharata.
Generally speaking, a kalpa is the period of time between the creation and recreation of a world or universe.[1] The definition of a kalpa equaling 4.32 billion years is found in the Puranas—specifically Vishnu Purana and Bhagavata Purana.[2]
According to Visuddhimagga, there are several explanations for types of kalpas and their duration. In the first explanation, there are four types:
Ayu-Kalpa - a variable time span representing the life expectancy of a typical human being in a particular era or yuga. This can be as high as one asankya or as small as 10 years. This number is directly proportional to the level of virtue of people in that era. Currently this value hovers around 100 years and is continually decreasing.

此三毒心，於中有恆沙惡念，於一一念中，皆為一劫；
如是恆沙不可數也，故言三大阿僧祇。
真如之性，既被三毒之所覆蓋，若不超彼三大恆沙毒惡之心，云何名為解脫？
今若能轉貪嗔癡等三毒心，為三解脫，是則名為得度三大阿僧祇劫。
末世眾生愚癡鈍根，不解如來三大阿僧祇秘密之說，遂言成佛塵劫未期，豈不疑誤行人退菩提道。」
[As the Buddha said, "Only after undergoing innumerable hardships for three asankhya kalpas did I attained Buddhahood,"
Why do you now say that simply beholding the mind and over-coming the three poisons is liberation?
The words of the Buddha are true.
But the three-asankhya kalpas refer to the three poisoned states of mind.
What we call asankhya in Sanskrit you call countless.
Within these three poisoned states of mind are countless evil thoughts, And every thought lasts a kalpa.
Such an infinity is what the Buddha meant by the three asankhya kalpas,
Once the three poisons obscure your real self, how can you be called liberated until you overcome their countless evil thoughts?
People who can transform the three poisons of greed, anger, and delusion into the three releases are said to pass through the three-sankhya kalpas.
But people of this final age are the densest of fools.
They don’t understand what the Tathagata really meant by the three-asankhya kalpas.
They say enlightenment is only achieved after endless kalpas and thereby mislead disciples to retreat on the path to Buddhahood. ]

我特解釋如下：我們學佛，不可望文生義，而是要深入義諦，才能真正明白佛說。
三大阿僧祇劫，此處非指時間，而是三毒心大到不可數，如恆河沙。
事實上，恆河惡念，一一念中，均是一劫。

三大阿僧祇劫，也是一念而已矣！
大家想想：

Antah-Kalpa - the time it takes for one ayu-kalpa to grow from 10 years up to one asankya and back to 10 years.
The ending of one antah-kalpa (or mass-extinction) can happen in one of three ways, all involving the majority of the human population going extinct:
Sashthrantha-Kalpa - Mass extinction by wars.
Durbhikshantha-Kalpa - Mass extinction by hunger.
Rogantha-Kalpa - Mass extinction by plague.
Asankya-Kalpa - time span of 20 antah-kalpas. One is equivalent to a quarter of maha-kalpa.
Maha-Kalpa - largest time unit in Buddhism. Ending of a maha-kalpa (apocalypse) can happen in three ways: fire, water and wind.
It is divided into four quarters each equivalent to one asankya-kalpa.
First quarter - time taken for this world to form.
Second quarter - stable duration of this world where all living beings can thrive.
Third quarter - time taken for this world to be destroyed.
Fourth quarter - empty time period.
First quarter - time taken for this world to form.
Second quarter - stable duration of this world where all living beings can thrive.
Third quarter - time taken for this world to be destroyed.
Fourth quarter - empty time period.
