Cab Drivers [1]
I sighted a cab stop at the entrance to the estate that I am residing at.
The passenger seems to be paying the cabby and took a few minutes for the cabby to give him change. I waited by the side as I wanted to take a cab to attend a meeting with a fellow student who is visiting from overseas.
A student in white school uniform and above knee pants finally alighted from the cab. He is about 6feet tall.
After telling the cabby my destination, he started grumbling about his previous passenger.
He asked me whether I have small change or not.
He said the boy gave him a $50 note and he don't have so much small change if I were to give him another $50 for cab fare.
I noticed that he has equipments installed for accepting Credit Cards & Nets payments. So I said I can pay him through these means if necessary.
He said for Credit Cards transactions, he has to wait 5 days and Nets 3 days to be paid. He wants CASH.
He then went on about rental of cab for half day is $55 and his diesel is about $35 and his daily target is at least $190. He has not met his target for today as I am his last fare for the date as he has to do the necessary to hand over.
Anyway, I checked that I have small change and informed him and told him not to worry.
The cabby is an old man with more white than black hair. He looks about 70 as his general aura really very weak.
The fare was $7.14 and I gave him $7.20.
Why live like this? :)
