放下箇什麼 Let Go Of What

世尊因「黑氏梵志」運神力,以左右手擎「合歡」、「梧桐花」,兩株,來供養佛。
A Hei named brahman executed divine power, giving offering to Buddha with 2 sprigs of Flower of Phoenix Tree, respectfully with palms together.

佛召仙人,梵志應諾。
Buddha summon Fairy (this is Hei Named Brahman), brahman acknowledged.

佛曰:「放下著。」
Buddha said: Let go of Holding.

梵志遂放下左手一株花。
Brahman obeyed by setting down the flower sprig in his left hand.

佛又召仙人:「放下著。」梵志又放下右手一株花。
Buddha summoned again: Let go of Holding. Brahman again set down the flower sprig in his right hand.

佛又召仙人:「放下著。」
Buddha summoned again: Let go of Holding.

梵志曰:「世尊,我今兩手皆空,更教放下箇什麼?」
Brahman said: World Supreme One, now both my hands are empty, still asked me to Let go of what?

佛曰:「吾非教汝捨放其花。汝當放捨外六塵、內六根、中六識。一時捨?,無可捨處,是汝免生死處。」

Buddha said: I am not teaching you to let go of the flowers. You must let go of External 6 Dust; Internal 6 Roots; Middle 6 Consciousness. Once you let go of all, and nothing left to let go, that then is the stage when you are exempted form Life & Death.


梵志於言下悟「無生忍」。
Brahman realised what is [No Birth Perseverance].

我讀了這段文字,就想起,學佛人常說的一句話:「看破,放下,自在。」
After reading these, I recalled, Buddhist students often say these: [See through, Let go, At ease.]

這是「金玉良言」,可惜做得到的人不多。
These is [Golden Jade good advice], what a pity that very few can do it.

佛教梵志放下:
Buddha instructs Brahman to Let go:

一、六塵--色聲香味觸法。
6 Dust - Form, sound, fragrance, taste, touch, dharma.

二、六根--眼耳鼻舌身意。
6 Roots - Eye ear nose tongue body mind

三、六識--眼識、耳識、鼻識、舌識、身識、意識。
6 consciousness - that of eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind

這「六塵」、「六根」、「六識」,互相關聯。
These are all inter-related.

然而我發覺更深的「六識」更具:
I suddenly discovered greater depths to [6 consciousness]:

「意識」、「攀緣識」、「巡舊識」、「波浪識」、「分別識」、「人我識」、「四住識」、「煩惱識」、「分段死識」。
Mind; establish affinity; seeking past history; wave-like; differentiate; others & me; 4 abides; troublesome thoughts; death by section.

這識的範圍之廣
These consciousness has widespread spans.

非你我所能想像。
Not you nor me can figure out.


曾有一位心理學博士醫師。
There was a professor of psychology.

他學佛法。
He learns Buddha Dharma.

只用「放下」一法教人。
Only use [Let go] as only dharma to teach others.

後來他有「大煩惱」,竟然一樣「放不下」,結果燒炭自盡。這是「放下」的不徹底。
Later when he has [Big Troublesome thoughts], he can't even [ let go], ended up self immolate with fire. This is incomplete [let go].

教人「放下」,而自己「放不下」,這也是現代人的一種悲哀了。
Teaching other to [let go], but can't do so with self, this is a sorrow of present day people.

梵志得「無生忍」,是安住於無生無滅之理而不動也。
Brahman received [No birth perseverance], is peacefully abide within theory of No Birth No Disintegrate steadfastly.

無生忍法者,於生滅諸法實相中,信受通達無礙不退,是無生忍。
Practicing [No birth perseverance], within [Birth Death]'s true image, trusting in and able to be steadfast without hindrance, is No Birth Perseverance.

「理寂不起,稱無生。」
Not affected by understanding solitary, term No Birth.

「慧安此理,名無生忍。」
Wisdom peacefully abide this theory, term No Birth Perseverance.

這個道理,人人會說,而真正放下,放到無可放處,是汝免生死處。
This theory every can say, when comes to truly let go, to the stage that there is nothing left to let go, you arrived at No Birth Death stage.

真能做到「一切放下」真是安身立命之處,甚至連「安身立命」也放下,不只是「空空」,連「空空」也放下!
Truly can [let go of all] and truly [Settle Self and awaits Divine Directives], even [Settle self & awaits Divine directives] also let go, not only is [Void Void], even [Void Void] also let go!

現在我問汝:「放下箇什麼?」
Now you ask me: Let go of what?

我在隱居閉關的時候,要求弟子們,勿忘三大志業:
During my retreat, need to ask all students, do not forget 3 big Wills/Wishes :
一、老人院。Old folks home
二、臨終關懷中心。Last caring services center - for those approaching death.
三、真佛墓園。True Buddha Cemetary


此三者,可以說已放下「生」。但仍關注「老、病、死」,只因老苦、病苦、死苦,此三苦令我感懷深深,我悲憫眾生之苦,才有了三大志業的理想。
These 3 can said already let go of [Life]. But still concern with [Aging, Illness, death], because thesr are the 3 sufferings which I feel deeply, I sympathise with sentient beings' suffering, thus have these 3 big wishes or ideals.

其實亦有內涵:Actually the hidden meaning within is:
老人院,是教你「放下」。
臨終關懷,亦教你「放下」。
真佛墓園,更是「放下」。
To [Let go].


最後連「老人院」、「臨終關懷」、「真佛墓園」也一樣「放下」!

我實實在在的告訴大家,我這三大志業,全在於「放下」二字。老人、臨終、墓園,就是「放下」!

我教你「無生忍」也!

「放下」、「無生忍」、「放下」、「無生忍」、「放下」、「無生忍」,參參看,汝悟到了什麼?

老弟!你的「面子」放下了嗎?
Younger brother! Your [Pride] let go already?

老弟!你還「求」什麼?
Younger brother! What more are you [Hoping for] ?

我很想讓你看看,「最深之處」是什麼?
I would greatly like to let you see what is [deepest place]?

佛门称外道为:梵志。Brahman.
有一个名叫黑氏的仙人,运用神力,双手举着合欢花和梧桐花来供养佛。
释迦牟尼佛说:“放下吧。”黑氏梵志放下了左手的一枝花;
释迦牟尼佛又说:“放下吧。”黑氏梵志又放下了右手的一枝花;
释迦牟尼佛还是对他说:“放下吧。”
梵志说:“世尊,我已经两手空空,您还要我放下什么?”
释迦牟尼佛对他说:“我不是要你放下你手中的花,而是要你放下外六尘、内六根、中六识。等到你没有什么可以放弃时,就进入了不生不死的境界了。”
梵志听完佛说的话,当即就悟到了无生法忍。
