論三世因果

天竺十九祖「鳩摩羅多」尊者在「中天竺國」遊化,與一位智者「闍夜多」討論因果。
The 19th Patriarch, Kumāralabdha/Kumarata, on his propagating trip in Central India, met a wise man [she-ye-duo/Sayata] and discuss Karma.

闍夜多問:「我家父母素信三寶,而常縈疾瘵,凡所營作,皆不如意;而我鄰家久為旃陀羅行,而身常勇健,所作和合。彼何幸,而我何辜?」
Sayata asked: My parents purely believe in Triple Gems, but always entangled by suffering of illness, and all actions taken also not satisfactory; however my neighbors that have been practicing Candala for prolong period, are healthy and all endeavours met with satisfaction. Why they are fortunate and I sinful?


十九祖答:「何足疑乎!且善惡之報有三時焉,凡人但見仁夭暴壽、逆吉義凶,便謂亡因果、虛罪福,殊不知影響相隨,毫釐靡忒。縱經百千萬劫,亦不磨滅。」

19th Patriarch replied:  That's not enough to doubt! Moreover, Good or Evil deeds'  returns have their 3 times then return, mortals when see Kindness Calamity Violence Longevity; against Auspiciousness but pro misfortune;  then speak of karma disappearing, imaginary fortune from sins, most don't know the enormity of these influences but follow them; lost control and very wasted.
Even with passing of Hundreds & Thousands kalpas, still cannot erase these.


十九祖鳩摩羅多尊者對闍夜多說:
「汝雖已信三業,而未明業從惑生,惑因識有,識依不覺,不覺依心。
心本清淨,無生滅,無造作,無報應,無勝負,寂寂然。
汝若入此法門,可與諸佛同矣。
一切善惡,有為無為,皆如夢幻。」

19th Patriarch, Kumarata to Sayata: Although you already believe in the 3 karma, but do not understand that karma arises from doubt, doubt comes from conscious knowledge, this knowledge rely on no realisation, no realisation rely on the Heart.
Heart is originally clean & pure, no birth no death, no faking/falsifying, no rewards or retribution, no win or loose, naturally silent/quiet.
If you enter this Dharma door, can already be together with all Buddhas.
All Good & Evil, with cause/reason or without cause/reason, all like imaginary or illusionary dreams.


讀了此段文字,我們已明白三世因果的關係,縱經百千萬劫,亦不磨滅。
After reading these, we already clear about relationship of Karma of the 3 times, even through hundreds, thousands, kalpas, still unable to erase.

我曾看見:I have seen:
「剛出生不久的嬰兒,旋即暴斃,嬰兒並未行何惡業,怎麼就死了呢?嬰兒何辜?」
「小學生畢業旅行,乘船遊湖,船翻覆,一船學生皆死,小學生又有何業,學生何辜?」
New born infant died violently immediately after birth, Infant has yet to even create any karma, why just die? What sin has the infant?

Primary school student went on graduation trip, cruising lake, the vessel overturned, all students on board died, these students have what karma, they have what sins?


我們不一定談人,談談畜牲:
「口蹄疫來了,豬仔皆亡,豬仔犯了什麼業?何辜?」
「禽流感來了,雞鴨皆殺,雞鴨犯了什麼業?何辜?」
「狂牛症來了,牛仔皆殺,牛隻犯了什麼業?何辜?」
GM also brought up animals, like the pig; fowls; cow.
What karma does the young of these animals have? What sins?


我讀歷史:
人類死於「冤枉」的何其多也,古代有「誅九族」,大人、小孩、嬰兒皆不能免,何辜?
人類死於「戰禍」的何其多也,中外古今同,至今猶不能免,這些死去的百姓,善良者居多,何辜?
人類死於「天災」的何其多也,大洪水、大地震、大火災、大風災,傷亡不分善惡,何辜?
人類死於「意外」的何其多也,空難、船難、車難、毒難、獸噉難,何辜?
等等等等。

以我自己為例,我自二十五、六歲,學佛至今六十二歲,經歷九十九難,至今天猶不能免。我自認是一位不妄為的人,連「違警」也不敢犯的人,我一生末進過警察局,但,災難不斷,何辜?

告訴大家,除了「三世因果」、「累世因果」、「百千萬劫因果」可以解釋之外,其他的論點都無法解釋的清楚明白了。

我在禪定之中,聽聞眾生:
厲聲淒叫。
哀怨九絕。
喊天哭地。

由古至今,多少「冤枉」?何辜?
From ancient times to now, how many [wrongly accused]? What sins?

十九祖鳩摩羅多說得好:「一切善惡,有為無為,皆如夢幻。」
19th Patriarch, Kumarata, well said:
All Good & Evil, with cause/reason or without cause/reason, all like imaginary or illusionary dreams.


一語道破「真如」:「無生滅、無造作、無報應、無勝負、寂寂然、靈靈然。」
(此指佛性無報應,非指因果種子無報應)
A word that breaks open [True Nature]:
No birth no death, no faking/falsifying, no rewards or retribution, no win or loose, naturally silent/quiet, spiritually natural.


十九祖付法給二十祖「闍夜多」尊者的偈曰:
19th Patriarch transmit to 20th Patriarch, Sayata, this verse:

「性上本無生。Nature actually has No birth.
為對求人說。To explain to those that ask.
於法既無得。As per Dharma, then don't have any Gain.
何懷決不決。」Why doubt to decide/judge or not.


我告訴大家,大家把眼睛放遠一點,看看這個宇宙有多大,小小的地球就是一個小舞台,宇宙漫長的歲月時光之中,地球上固然發生了很多事,但,你不覺得嗎?
皆如虛幻啊!皆如虛幻啊!
一會兒,全沒有了,「無生」、「無得」、「無決」。
I tell all of you, place your eyes further a little, look at how big is this universe, a tiny global earth is just like a tiny stage, within the long time span of the universe, there are so many happenings on global earth, but, you don't feel them?
All similar with imaginary or illusory! All similar with imaginary or illusory!

In a little while, all disappeared, [No birth]; [No Gain]; [No Decision/Judgment].

天竺十九祖
鸠摩罗多尊者,Kumāralabdha,又作鸠摩暹多、鸠摩罗陀、鸠摩罗驮、矩摩逻陀、拘摩罗逻多、究摩罗陀。意译作童受、童首、豪童、童子。 据《大唐西域记》载,生于呾叉始罗国。


二十祖闍夜多尊者 Sayata

旃陀羅

解釋: 為音譯,另譯作「旃荼羅」,意譯為「賤民」,是古印度社會中地位最低階級(還在首陀羅之下)的族群。

解釋: caṇḍāla, derived from violent, and intp. as a butcher, bad man 惡人.

解釋:  梵語 candāla 之音譯。又作旃荼羅、栴荼羅。意譯為嚴熾、暴厲、執惡、險惡人、執暴惡人、主殺人、治狗人等。印度社會階級種姓制度中,居於首陀羅階級之下位者,乃最下級之種族,彼等專事獄卒、販賣、屠宰、漁獵等職。根據摩奴法典所載,旃陀羅係指以首陀羅為父、婆羅門為母之混血種。增一阿含經卷十八(大二‧六三六上):「或有一人,生卑賤家,或旃陀羅種,或噉人種,或工師種。」〔法華經安樂行品、觀無量壽經、十誦律卷九〕(參閱「四姓」1705)

解釋: (又作旃荼羅),梵語旃陀羅,華言屠者。謂屠者之家,殺心盛大,惱害眾生,見者傷慈,壞善根本。比丘若行乞食,此處不可往也。(旃荼羅者,華言嚴幟。謂此屠者,惡業自嚴,行時搖鈴持竹為[巾*票]幟,以使人知其為惡者也。)

不要漏掉菩提心的概念!

Don't compare, as per GM, comparison brings about Dispute.
Thats the case of Sayata, comparing his family's plight with that of his neighbours'  seemingly fortunate circumstances!
师尊说过:不要比较。比较会引起纷争!
