Therefore Enlightenment truly comes before Guru yoga.
9 Yanas starts from the basic of learning the theory first.
With those basics, then one starts to cultivate and then realized what's everything all about, & then can proceed to understand fully what Buddha is all about, then can yoga.
Like Guru said won't sue, but they went ahead!
Doing something a Buddha Won't ever do! :)

These two are very educated articles if I may say so.
Especially the 4 noble truth to analyse, I guess most people miss that parameter.
And most importantly, Enlightenment before the Guru Yoga, because practitioner will not practise blindly and has no idea on what is being pursued or performed.

Buddha turning the wheel of Dharma for the first time
Chökhor Düchen (Wyl. chos 'khor dus chen), the 'Festival of Turning the Wheel of Dharma' — one of the four major Buddhist holidays.
It occurs on the fourth day of the sixth Tibetan lunar month.
For seven weeks after his enlightenment, Buddha did not teach.
Finally, encouraged by Indra and Brahma, he turned the Wheel of Dharma for the first time, at Sarnath, by teaching the ‘Four Noble Truths’.
