There is this little girl, MJ, of 10years who always gets beaten by her father. He would beat her without any provocation. She is slow in learning and no matter how much she was taught, she can't retain any.
The mother also dare not lend a hand to her own daughter because the husband is a very fierce and mean man who won't hesitate to beat her too. There is a younger sibling and when this one is naughty, MJ got beaten as well and more severely too.
The grandparent is a monk for many years and also still very much in control of the household and continues to dictate to his family.
A fellow student, LH, asked me to help MJ about a month ago when I was in Houston.
I suggested to LH to tell the mother to report to child abuse to save her child. Told LH not to interfere as the Grandparent, the monk, is known for being mean and vengeful.
I saw much darkness but didn't know how to truly help except asked the mother and daughter to chant any Buddha's name to dedicate merits of chanting to all sentient beings. I have no signal to lend a hand or meet up with MJ and her mother.
This evening at dinner, the topic came up again.
I remembered a Buddhist story that I have read. I told this to those at dinner.
There were this pair of twin brothers. The elder one is good looking and very smart whereas the younger one is very ugly and stupid. The elder one decided to take refuge with Buddha then still living. He decided to bring his brother along as he worries that no one can take care of his brother.
The younger brother has learning problems. When you speak more that one word, he can't retain the rest but the first one only. Buddha's disciples residing in the same compound all gave up teaching him and his brother took to the task himself. Eventually, even the elder brother is frustrated and gave up.
Compassionate and infinitely wise Buddha, saw his pass Karma. The younger brother was a handsome and extremely intelligent man. He would use his knowledge to take advantage of others and jeered and look down upon others less intelligent. He is totally obnoxious and most people stay away from him, in order not to get hurt/harm.
Thus he reincarnated as the total opposite to neutralize his past karma.
Buddha taught him to sweep the floor of the compound daily, at the same time chanting : " sweep away sentient dust"
Buddha also gave instructions that all that come upon him chant these words.
The sweeping away of sentient dust finally produce results and this person finally neutralized his karma.
The story pops up when LH brought up the little girl's plight again.
MJ is the same, not able to memorise more than the first or second word. Failed her examinations through the past few years of Primary education and was promoted to the next grade irregardless.
Surprisingly today, I told LH that the little girl, MJ, should be the clever one and ill treating someone who reincarnated to be her father this life. MJ should have boxed and kicked him too. [I don't know how I know about the kicking!]
This lifetime is pay back time for MJ.
Told LH to tell this story to MJ's mother.
At least we located the Causative factor and now we can help to solve their dilemma.
The signal to help finally surfaced!
Of course, GM has to lend a Big Helping Hand!
