10-8-2011 Relations Between The House And Health

CHAPTER 14 - Relations Between The House And Health
Among the features of the house, there are many of them that have to do with the health of the family members. It is not easy to give a comprehensive discussion, but there are important secrets of success that merit some detailed explanation. For example:
  • If there are extra growths such as tumour in the family, study carefully if there are protruding parts on the house that are not symmetrical.
  • If there have been operations on some members, study if there are breaches, skylights or renovated parts in the house.
  • For illnesses belonging to internal medicine, examine the location of the incinerator or the purification trough.
  • For urological diseases, see if there are problems with the drainage pipelines.
  • For mental disorder, study the location of the bed and the location of various gods.
  • For ear and nose trouble, study the opening place of the windows.
  • For bone trouble, examine the structure of beams and pillars.
There are also other features that have to do with health, but we are not going into them.
I, Living Buddha Lian Shen, think that house features have their definite effect on people's health in an obscure way. Ordinary geomancers may not always see clearly this type of influence, but masters of real learning should know that people living in the house are invariably influenced by these features in an obscure but profound way.
Firstly, the circulation of the vitality forces exert some influence.
Secondly, the magnetic field has its influence. Once a house is finished, it is a magnetic field. The body of people is also a magnetic field. When the two magnetic fields meet, the crucial question is whether they coincide or contradict or whether they merge or repel one another.
Thirdly, land spirits also exert their influence.
I have made some study of the location of the toilet. The function of the toilet is very much like that of purification trough. If the toilet is improperly located, it may bring all sorts of illnesses, such as dizziness, eye trouble, toothache, pneumonia, heart trouble, diabetes, enterogastritis, hepatitis, mental disorder. If we connect the two central lines to divide the house into four equal parts, we get a cross that has a central point. The toilet is not allowed to be on the cross. A toilet on the cross will definitely have a bad effect on people's health. This is a very important point.
The incinerator is not the stove in the kitchen, but the fire-place. It burns firewood and is found in every house in the United States. The fire-place generates forces of fire. It must not face directly the main gate. If people see the fire upon entering the house, they become angry or lose temper. There will be no harmony but disunity in the family.
(The high divorce rate in the States has to do with the fire-places.)
The fire-place is fire.
It must not be located in the north, as water and fire repel one another.
It must not be located in the south, as fire and fire make too strong a fire.
Its best location is the east.
The incinerator should not be on the cross either. The fire-place has a strong effect on people's health, and it should be located in the east, southeast or northwest.
Inside the human body the forces of fire are most important. Fire gives warmth, but also causes inflammation.
The toilet and the incinerator must be located in safe places.
The drainage problem is also important in the house. If water is drained away easily without stoppage, nothing rotten will be collected. Poor drainage will give the house a bad odour. A moldy smell will definitely result in someone falling ill in the family.
The location of the bed and the various gods will be discussed in later chapters.
What about the effect of plants inside and outside the house?
I think that plants inside the house don't just help to decorate the house, but also add a lot to the vitality of the place. For example, a pot plant at the store of wealth, or a plant beside the door or in a dirty place (in the toilet) can help to purify the environment and repel any aggressive odour.
It is necessary to plant trees outside the house. It is no good to have no trees at all. On the other hand, it is no good either to make the trees too tall and too close to one another, for in that case they produce a gloomy and ghastly atmosphere. If the trees are tall and thick, they shut out the sunlight for the house, and then, negative forces will gain the upper hand and haunt the place. A house with a gloomy atmosphere has a bad effect on people's health.
The guiding principle concerning windows is to make proper the circulation of fresh air and the amount of sunlight. It is bad either to have too much sunlight or too little of it, either to have too much fresh air or too little of it.
If it is too bright, no air is stored and no positive forces stay.
If it is too dark, the air stored will go rotten and the place will be haunted.
The most auspicious is to have the right amount of sunlight and proper circulation of air. That is, at the place where air collects, it also circulates gently and slowly. Here a great deal of learning is involved.
