5-1-2011 Offerings/供品

What to offer the Buddha & Boddhisattva?
Well, you offer your sincerity & your favorites.
GM said they can't eat what you offer but your sincerity should be obvious.
Yesterday, a shijie said the Fa-Gao [chinese sponge cake either make with brown/orange colored sugar. Its name Fa = properous & Gao = high.] all sold out. She asked to be driven to some place to try & get for the shrine at home as it is the First day of the Lunar month.

I asked this question.
Do you like to eat the Fa-Gao?
Do you eat it after offering to the Divinities?
The answer for both is NO.

GM said if you don't like to eat what you are offering then you are not sincere. You must offer what you like most.

Don't go for auspicious sounding name of foodstuff which mostly are marketing gimmicks of merchants.
